The Power of Worship Music in Exorcism | Finding a Demon’s Weakness

After being mocked by the demon for twenty minutes, I went to plug my phone into the church soundboard and play some worship music over the speakers. The manifested demon saw what I was doing and ran over and unplugged the phone. We managed to get the phone back, but the demon grabbed it again when I plugged it back in.

Unsure of what to do, I grabbed my guitar off the stage and started to play the song “Break Every Chain.” The manifested demon screamed, fell against the back wall, slunk to the floor, and dry-heaved in pain. I had found this particular demon’s weakness and managed to get it out of the way so that I could work with the participant.

Worship is often treated as the prelude to the message in a church service. For some, it’s the thing we have to suffer through to get to the real reason we’ve gathered together. But stories like this remind us of just how powerful worship music is. May we find this truth as we sing together.
