As the demons left my participant, strawberries began to grow all around their dreamscape. “I imagine that’s the fruit of the Spirit. What happens if you take a bite?” I suggested, since dreamscape visions are highly interactive.

Though they only took a bite in the vision of their mind, their actual tongue lit up with the taste of fresh, ripe strawberries. These strawberries would continue to be a sign for us in future sessions of how the participant was doing. I’d have them return to their dreamscape and take a bite of a strawberry to check its freshness. If it tasted off, we could discern that some themes in life were weighing them down and needed to be addressed.

It’s always interesting to watch participants experience the Holy Spirit’s dreamscapes in their minds. Nearly everyone cries at some point during the experience (if not the whole time). Sometimes they can legitimately feel what happens in their dreamscape in their physical body. One demon, named Sayah, always appeared right in front of the participant’s face, and they would move their head left and right in an attempt to escape them. Some participants move their arms and hands around to physically interact with what they’re seeing. One person kneeled when Jesus appeared in their dreamscape. Occasionally participants will even smell something. The Holy Spirit can illuminate all of our senses to help us discern what he’s up to.

May we have eyes to see and ears to hear so that we, too, might experience what God is up to.
